This town drying area accounts for 70% of the nation’s entire hwangtae production.
Weekend markets are opened and busy selling hwangtae and agricultural products in the spring and fall.
Take a look around the hwangtae drying area and listen to the story of how the pollack called myeongtae becomes
dried pollack called hwangtae and finally arrives at our table and the Hwangtae Village.
The Hwangtae Festival is also held every May where you might be able to pick up some great items.

Baekdamsa is a temple meaning the temple located after passing 100 small fences at Daecheongbong Peak, Seoraksan,
and it acts as a guide in the deep remote areas of Naeseorak. It was rebuilt after seven fires and still stands today.
Baekdamsa is almost famous as the place where Manhae Han Yong-woon, who lived as an independence activist, Buddhist priest,
and poet left behind many works. Why not take a load off here, feel the history, and heal your soul here?

Manhae Village is a place built to remember Han Yong-woon who was a high Buddhist priest,
poet and national movement actvist during the Japanese Occupation.
It is also a place of rest where you can relax your mind and body in the vast and pleasant natural environment of Naeseorak.
There are various materials on Manhae Han Yong-woon and there is also a place to write. The Manhae Festival is also held every August,
so you should make sure to take a visit.
