The Manhae Festival is held every August to remember the spirit of Han Yong-woon who was an independence activist, poet and Buddhist priest. Just as the achievements of Manhae Han Yong-woon was great, over 10 events are held to share the life and thoughts of Manhae such as academic seminars, Manhae Award ceremony, poetry school, essay contest, exhibits, etc. The Manhae Awards, which is the highlight of the Manhae Festival, is an event to award people who practically realized the Manhae ideas. This award ceremony receives recommendations from different parts of society among activists around the world to award those after strict reviews in the fields of peace, practice and literature.
